Plus Antibacterial (poliglecaprone 25) monofilament suture is a monofilament synthetic absorbable surgical suture prepared from a copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone. The suture contains Irgacare MP (triclosan) a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. Plus Antibacterial sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues microsurgery or ophthalmic surgery. Minimal tissue trauma due to a monofilament design that reduces drag force by 2 to 3 times compared with braided absorbable sutures and a propriety polymer that utilizes a hydrolytic process to minimize tissue reaction during absorption. Sharp enough to penetrate and carry suture through tissue with minimal resistance. Slim as possible without compromising strength. Rigid to resist bending yet ductile to resist breaking. Stable in the grasp of the needleholder.
